Taunton based JobServe Events are aiming to help local people into employment and training at their JobServe Live! Plymouth event, to be held on Tuesday 29 September.
Over 20 exhibitors, ranging from employers to training providers, will be on hand at the Guildhall between 10.30am to 7pm, to provide jobseekers the opportunity to improve their career prospects and to find employment.
Exhibition Manager Rachel Fellows said: “We hear a lot about whether or not there are ‘green shoots’ to the economy. The surest test of this is whether people are hiring, and the levels of optimism amongst those looking for a new position. We run two-way events across the UK – people looking to move on and employers looking for quality staff – and the South West market has always been one where we see massive potential.
“There’s a work culture and a skills base here that means people want to work and they expect to be rewarded and promoted for what they achieve. When both our exhibitors and our visitors come back on our post-show surveys with positive comments we know the ship has been turned around. Approximately twenty might not sound like a large number of employers but remember how many hundreds of thousands of people these organisations employ.
“We are looking forward to our Plymouth event in the Guildhall on the 29 September and hope that more smaller organisations are encouraged to sign up. After all it is those who are prepared to hit the ground running who will benefit from the upturn after the recession. What is different about this downturn has been that the majority of people displaced or threatened with displacement are high achievers with good educational standards and work ethics. There’s never been a better time to strengthen your workforce.”
JobServe Live! Plymouth is sponsored by GradSouthWest and is the ultimate, interactive recruitment and careers exhibition that gives jobseekers the chance to meet big name recruiters and companies face to face.
The show is the one-stop event for adults to improve their career prospects and features a wide range of recruiting employers, universities and other training and education providers plus advice clinics, seminars, demonstrations and workshops. Everything is there to help people in Plymouth to make the most of their careers!
The event is free to attend and more details can be found at www.jobserve.com/live
