Applying online for a job is becoming increasingly popular with jobseekers who want a quick and easy way to get their details in front of recruiters, whilst maintaining a professional image. New figures released by JobServe today have shown. And the Engineering sector in particular has seen a hefty increase in the number of people applying for jobs.
The latest raft of statistics from job searching website, JobServe, shows how the growth in online applications has soared to 2.8 million over the past three months. Compared to last year, over half a million more people now choose to apply online at JobServe during the busy January to March job hunting period.
Ian Frost, Marketing Manager at JobServe said, “Applicants want a straightforward, quick and easy way to apply for a job that is relevant to them and JobServe delivers just that. We also use a number of innovative routes to reach jobseekers with varied lifestyles. Our RSS feeds are popular with our technology-aware candidates and JobServe mobile is proving ideal for those on the move who don’t have time to look at the website every day. Of course there is always the jobs-by-email format that JobServe first launched back in 1993.”
Looking at the figures more closely, the Engineering sector on JobServe was the star performer where the number of applications has doubled compared to this time last year. This should come as no surprise as confidence is high within the Engineering sector. A strong UK economy is creating a wealth of job opportunities which has been reflected in a 61% increase in the number of Engineering and Construction jobs published on JobServe. With growth predicted to continue in the sector, JobServe is well placed to deliver a strong response rate to advertisements published on their website.
