Job Scene London returned to the London Olympia on 18 and 19 March, and was hailed as a big success for all.
The event saw over 2,700 people through the doors and each of them interested in embarking on a first or new career. They were able to talk to potential employers on the day, submit CV’s and walk away with ideas and information and the possibility of a new job. Exhibitors meanwhile, were delighted with the number of high quality candidates they were able to see and register for possible employment.
The IT Zone, sponsored by Dell, was a big success and constantly busy over both days. Exhibitors in the Zone were extremely pleased with the quality of candidates they were able to see, each and every one interested in the sector. The stands based in the zone were constantly busy and everyone was pleased
The winners of best stand at the event were lastminute.com. They had come prepared with marker pens and large dot to dot posters, encouraging people to be interactive and visit them. Natalie Shirley, Recruitment Specialist for Lastminute.com said: “The event was excellent on both days and we were very busy. We were also impressed with the excellent service from the organisers. We’d definitely come back.”
One of the more interesting give away competitions could be found on the Connexions stand. They had a much sought after Nintendo Wii and visitors were invited to play it on stand and enter a prize draw for the chance to win the console. Mark Hart, Communications Manager for the groups said: “Once again Job Scene delivers. A great way to reach hundreds of young people, parents, teachers and employers.”
RackSpace were also busy, with a packed out stand attracting a lot of attention. Their competition to win a giant Easter egg revolved around guessing a set of five flags. They had hundreds of entries and were able to meet a high number of potential candidates in the process.
The event was filmed by internet media company Silver Stream TV. Capturing the best of the event and turning it into a one minute downloadable film was never going to be easy with so much happening, but nevertheless, you can view just how the event happened
