Double success for recruitment shows

14 November 2006

The 11th annual Job Scene Wales event was hailed another great success when the recruitment, training and careers event took place at Cardiff International Arena on 9 and 10 November.

And the event was a double success as GO (Graduate Opportunities) Wales was held alongside Job Scene proving a winning combination.

Thousands of visitors flocked to the venue including career changers, graduates, returnees to work, school and college leavers, the unemployed and gap year students.

They were attracted to visit by a wealth of potential employers, live demonstrations, a variety of free seminars and one-to-one advice clinics.

Both events aimed to bring visitors face to face with employers, training providers, educational establishments and careers advisers and many will have walked away with new career ideas, an interview or maybe even a job.

As well as giving exhibitors the opportunity to network with other companies, the events helped companies to raise their profile and above all recruit candidates.

British Gas recruitment manager Chris Hodge said: “Job Scene Wales was a good event with a great selection of companies and a chance to network. There was also a good steady flow of candidates with a lot of interest.”

Many exhibitors highlighted the high level of interest from potential candidates and felt that the event was a cost effective way to recruit.

A spokeswoman for HBOS plc stated: “We would recommend the event to other employers; it provides access to jobseekers with a high return on investment due to the numbers attracted.”

Job Scene Wales and GO Wales are annual events and will be returning to the Cardiff International Arena on 8 & 9 November 2007.

Stand reservations are already being taken for these popular shows and previous exhibitors have raced to secure their spaces.

Both events are organised by TJW Exhibitions Ltd and further details are available by contacting Job Scene sales on 01823 250930, email sales@tjw.co.uk or go to www.jobsceneuk.co.uk.
